Doing the Final edits + last minute animation
I've spent the past couple days putting the finishing touches on the excerpt, while there are some parts I'd change how they were shot, I now know what works and doesn't for the final film, the trip sequence has been so much fun to edit and came out almost exactly how I want it, with a couple shots that I'd been planning for a long time finally taking shape, which is great as I'll either use them for the final film or elevate them later on. My favourite thing I did was use a picture I took that was a reflection from a trash can and used that as a texture. Since there were lots of different clips with different settings, I've done the best I can with the colorgrade. I decided to settle on the film starting quite a dark blue, then slowly moving to more ornate before the trip sequence starts with a primarily orange light show plate. This color scheme came from talking to the actress about her idea of love, who told me when her relationship started it felt uneasy, like rough blue water, and then as they became more comfortable in their relationship she saw this as orange, feeling more comforting and like home. All the shots have been graded to stress this.
Yesterday I decided that it felt like something was missing from the trip sequence, and planned a huge animation to make today. The last animation I did like this took me roughly 30 hours. I've now been working on it for about 8 hours, and it is very close to being done. However, my drawing tablet is running out of battery and none of the cables to charge it are working. I already have the final version of this video without this last animation ready to go. Since it wasn't originally part of my final plan it'll be okay if I don't include it, but I'm going to do my best to do as much as I can before my tablet dies, and if I cannot finish it I'll post the unfinished version on here along with the final assessment.
