5 Minute Excerpt Conclusion
Having now finished this semester's asisgnment I feel like I've done what I originally set out to do. My main focus was light and I feel like that's seen quite clearly in the final video, I'll be making a post soon about the academic texts I've been reading and that will be included in my final essay accompanying the video. I still have some issues with the final colorgrade as its still a bit uneven, but as mentioned in the last post I think that the change from blue to orange tones worked quite well.
I'm very happy with the trip sequence overall, as it was a combination of all of the techniques I've been trying out for the last semester. It was a risk adding in that final animation, and while it took 12 hours I think it added the movement and symbolism that I felt was missing from that segment of the trip sequence. This is the same style of animation that I've used for my previous portfolio, and while it's quite simple it matches my film style and goes quite tell with the liquid light show.
I'm much happier with the trip sequence than the romantic part, but since those shoots were in the rain and quite chaotic, for the final film I'll have more time to shoot and warmer weather, as well as a larger crew.
