Sculptural Concept Video

My next test video that I'm filming tonight will be quite different to what I've been working on so far. Instead of focusing on the psychedelic elements of my work, I will instead be looking at other themes that I plan on exploring.

When looking at my work so far, my lecturer has stressed the importance of the sculptural movements and staging of my characters, so for this video I will take inspiration from the flowing form of sculpture. I will also be using a combination of black and white and color. I will also be experimenting using the lens filters I've bought (not kaleidoscope).

The general concept for this test is a dinner, with fruits and meats and cheeses. Fruit is very sculptural, and combining these colors and textures with drapery and close up shots of character's hands and textures of clothes will allow me to fully explore texture and sculpture through this video. Since lots of my work relies heavily on post production, this time I will be focussing on the filming process as the main goal to achieve these goals. The refraction lens and blurring lens will allow for me to focus on doing all of this as practically as possible. I will allow myself simple cuts, colorgrade, and sound design but will not add any more effects or animation. Slower editing and a focus on the shots as they are will allow me to focus more on how each shot flows by itself. I will also not be using too much camera movement.

I have a rough plan here of the kinds of shots I'd like to explore, but I will focus on seeing how the light interacts with different textures in the room and see what looks interesting overall.
