Troubleshooting and Planning

Looking at my current research and experiments, I've found that there are some gaps in my research and lots to improve on with my experimentation. My goal over the next two weeks is to complete this list of tasks to have a portfolio that makes sense and academic theories to back it up.

Filming 

1. Retry the silhouette kiss shot - larger space, with more concentrated light? 

2. Retry the Dancing Tattoo - make another attempt at this using frame by frame animation rather than my original approach - critically reflect on the value of both approaches and maybe find a new one? also find out how to effectively cover up the original tattoo. 

3. Stained Glass - try to do digitally, maybe using overlays on premier pro? if this doesn't work then try to use relight on davinci resolve. Also retry the original approach with larger panels, more concentrated light, and thinner paint

4. Kaleidoscope  - try and create the effect again using five different images and figure out how to have them all rotate at the same rate. 

5. Have three more animation tests ready - explore more concepts and how they can fit in with live action 

Research 

1. Find new books in the same vein as Electric Kool Aid Acid Test and The White Album

2. Research into lighting techniques used in the 60s and in Anna Biller movies

3. Research more experimental films with psychedelic techniques

4. Find at least 10 academic papers - mix of papers on the psychedelic movement itself, films about it, and the techniques that surround it. 

I still plan on making the found footage film that I mentioned a couple weeks ago using found footage from the time, as well as another short video using practical effects to try and recreate some of the lighting techniques and textures that I've only seen on found footage so far. (maybe projecting designs that I make digitally into a space?)

I also plan on finishing the edit of the documentary we were working on, as it was a great way to practice sound design and I've had it half edited for the past couple weeks and would like to have that as a finished product.
