Pitch For Final Project

 Name of Film: Shine On

A couple meets and must find their way home at night. While they become closer, reality around them begins to crumble and they must navigate a series of dreamscapes together in order to return.

This project will try and encapsulate the spirit go 1960s psychedelic films through its use of lighting, animation, and overall psychedelic themes. I hope to use this film as a chance to experiment with a simple narrative and bring it to life by using different techniques that will start with small indications of reality shifting, and ending with an absurdist dream sequence. The focus of this film is the human connection at the core of this surreal landscape. This will be done through a series of experimentations with lighting, such as the use of projectors and an attempt to recreate stained glass for a scene involving a church. There will also be an attempt at small animations throughout the start of the film, hopefully becoming bigger and more noticeable as the film goes on, the goal of both of these is to alter reality as much as possible while keeping some semblance of the real world.
