Current research: Using Animation in Live Action

For my title sequence I have decided I'd like to try some slightly more complex animation in combination with the live action and found footage that I will be using. The ultimate goal is for the title to be stylised like a 1960s psychedelic poster (which I am hoping to have fully designed by the end of the day, and to have the shot zoom out from just the title to the full poster on a pole or wall which the characters will be near. The hope is I can also animate this to peel off the wall and fly away.

My current experience with animation is very limited and using simple techniques that make sense in my head rather than using more professional softwares and techniques, so this will be my first time attempting this properly.

I have two different plans I will be trying to achieve this effect:

1. Using Adobe Animate - first converting the video into individual frames and then animating on a layer on top of this. From my current research this seems like a popular method and one of the most simple. To make sure this goes as smoothly as possible I will have to make sure that I use a tripod this time so that there isn't too much movement in the shot im trying to animate on. This will also require the use of a drawing tablet, which I still am not fully comfortable with but am hoping to get better in the coming months. I will also be doing more research to see how I can blend the lighting in both of these elements together so that the 2D on top of live action isn't too jarring. I will also have to look at how I can transition between the digital poster to the hand drawn in a way that looks more refined than them just fading into each other

2. Using the 3D capabilities in Premier Pro - I have seen this used before to animate things such as phone screens and other digital illustrations in a 3D way on top of elements in premier pro. I think this may be an easier way to to this, however I have not done much research yet on how to curve the image if I want it to look like it is stuck to the pole. Having the poster stuck to a wall will probably be much easier for both of these methods but I will try out a few different versions to see which one looks best.

Due to classes and other work obligations, and scheduling with actors, I won't be able to film until tonight.  Leaving me with this weekend and Monday to have this fully edited. I may not be able to have an animation like this completed by that time but I will try to have at least one version of it done by then. I will also be looking for found footage to use in this. Hopefully this will all come together similarly to how I picture it in my head.
